Diamond Dental Service is committed to providing the safest possible experience for all patients and staff, as well as our families and community. We have invested substantial resources into bringing the newest and best safety technology and procedures to our office. Read below to find out how Dr. Alma Lombardo is committed to safety in the dental setting.
We have installed six medical-grade air filtration units throughout our office. Our office's size would normally call for two of these units, but nevertheless we have installed six in order to filter and sanitize the office atmosphere that much faster. Each unit contains three filters, including a medical-grade HEPA H13 filter, plus UV sanitization. These units ensure that our breathing air is repeatedly purified throughout the day.
ReLeaf is a high-volume intra-oral (inside the mouth) dental suction system that prevents aerosols from escaping from the mouth during dental procedures. A soft, leaf-shaped device is comfortably placed inside the patient's cheek and is connected to our central high-volume dental vacuum system. Fine particles are sucked into the leaf before escaping, promoting a safer office environment and preventing harmful germs from getting into the air, and onto clothing and skin.
In the event that any aerosols get past the ReLeaf system placed inside the mouth, Diamond Dental Service is proud to announce that it has also installed two high-powered extra-oral (outside the mouth) suction systems with three filter stages, including a medical-grade H13 HEPA filter, plus ultraviolet sanitization. These systems are powerful vacuums placed above the patient's chair during dental procedures, powerfully sucking in aerosols that might escape during treatment, then safely filtering and sanitizing those aerosols before allowing clean air to return to the office space.
Prior to their arrival, patients will be asked to complete a COVID-19 questionnaire from the comfort of their home computer or phone. Then, as patients arrive to the office, they will be asked to call from their cars before entering. Once the waiting room is clear, the patient will be invited into the office. Upon entering, our friendly staff will provide hand sanitizer, take temperatures with a no-contact digital thermometer, and test blood oxygen saturation levels with a pain-free finger sensor. Once the all-clear is given, the patient will be escorted to the dental chair for their appointment. On top of all this, we are now using face shields, N95 respirator masks, sanitized surgical gowns, and we are increasing the frequency of our already strict office cleaning and sanitizing protocols.
